Railway Board suggests penalties and infrastructure improvement to lower rake congestion

Instances of coal loading terminals and power houses taking more than permitted free time to release wagons were flagged in April. This was leading to excessive congestion around coal handling points and the zonal railways have now been advised to make use of provision of penal demurrage to prevent the delays.
