
The new regulation of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (Fssai) requires imported consignments of two dozen major food crops to be accompanied with a "non-GM-cum-GM-free certificate" from March 1. Through this, exporters need to declare that the supplies do not contain genetically modified organisms, are of non-GM origin and are also not genetically modified.
